How to Participate

SOLO accepts both children and adults. Children must be at least 8 years old.

The program is open to anyone living in St. Joseph County and surrounding areas who is ambulatory, including crutch walkers, with physical, visual, auditory or significant mental impairments. It helps if students can follow directions through verbal instructions, signs or modeling.

Student skiers with mild impairments, who could learn to ski in a regular ski program or ski club, are encouraged to do so.

All students must turn in a medical release form and a signed waiver of liability form. Attendance at the orientation meeting and a separate exercise and training meeting are highly recommended. You can pick up or fill out these forms at either of these meetings. You can also contact our Student Recruiter for forms or click on the links below to view/download them. Forms must be turned in typically by mid-December to assure a spot on this year's roster; ask for this year’s deadline.
